Habitat for Humanity 50-50 Lottery Rules of Play

1. TICKET INFORMATION:
 
Ticket orders will be available for purchase over the internet and at multiple physical locations. We will also be able to process orders on a purchaser’s behalf at the offices of the Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North Society.  The Purchaser will receive, by email, a confirmation of the order with their ticket number(s) and tickets(s) attached and available for download and to print.  
The Licensee will hold twelve (12) monthly 50/50 draws over the course of a twelve-month period. Each draw will have the following parameters.
Each monthly 50/50 draw will have 4,980 tickets available for each monthly draw, with 830 tickets for $5.00 and 4,150 tickets @ 5 for $20.00. The total jackpot for each draw can grow up to $20,750.00. Winners of the 50/50 draw will receive half of the proceeds. 
 
Each 50/50 ticket purchased is only eligible for the draw occurring in each particular month of ticket sales. 
 
Tickets may be sold and purchased only in British Columbia. 
2. ELIGIBILITY
The following people are not permitted to purchase tickets in this lottery: employees and their immediate family member(s) responsible for the conduct and management of the ticket raffle or employees of Darelle Media Inc.
A non-resident of British Columbia may purchase a ticket only if the entire payment transaction takes place while the person is physically in British Columbia and if the ticket or a receipt is issued at that time. Tickets or receipts will not be distributed to, emailed, mailed or otherwise sent to a non-resident’s third-party address in B.C. A non-resident winner of a prize is responsible for all costs associated with delivery of prize to the location the winner specifies, that is outside the province of British Columbia. 
When a resident of British Columbia is outside the province of British Columbia they may not place an order to purchase tickets. This restriction includes all methods of ordering tickets. 
Ticket Purchaser must be 19 years of age or older. If a winning ticket bears a minor’s name, the prize will be lawfully delivered to the minor’s parents, legal guardian or trustee. Know your limit, play with in it. Problem Gambling Help Line 1-888-795-6111 www.bcresponsiblegambling.ca

3. CHANCES OF WINNING:
The odds of winning an individual draw are 1 in 4,980 to win the grand prize of $10,375.00. Winner of the 50/50 draw will win one half of the money for the 50/50 ticket sales. Actual odds are dependent on the number of tickets sold. 
 
4. TAX INFORMATION:
Prizes are awarded tax free in Canada. The price of tickets is not deductible as a charitable donation for tax purposes in Canada. 
5. CASH EQUIVALENTS AND PRIZE DETAILS:
There is one prize available to be won. 
Prizes must be accepted as awarded and must be claimed within one (1) year of the draw date.  
6. PERTINENT DRAW DATES:
There will be twelve monthly draws. The final draw for each raffle is listed below. Each draw will take place at the offices of Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North Society located at 1755 13th Street, Courtenay, B.C., V9N 7B6. Only tickets that have been paid for and/or verified as paid are eligible to be entered in each monthly draw.

7. ONLINE TICKET SALES
Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North Society has contracted the services of Darelle Media Inc. (www.darelle.com) to sell Lottery tickets through the Internet by way of a real-time processing and payment system and where the purchaser’s ticket is paid for immediately online. The transaction and payment processing system used for processing online ticket sales is Payment Card Industry (PCI) Security Standards Council compliant.
Lottery tickets will be sent to the purchaser by email or through the Internet where the Purchaser will download and print a copy of the ticket. 
In addition:
 
• Ticket purchasers must be physically in the province of B.C. when placing the order:
• They must be residents of B.C.; and
• The address given for tickets must be a valid B.C. address
 
Non-residents of British Columbia cannot purchase tickets by phone, fax or mail.
 
8. OTHER PERTINENT INFORMATION:
Each winning ticket will be selected using a random number generator. The list of the winner will be published on the Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North Society website at www.habitatnorthisland.com and on www.darelle.com . The name of the winner will be emailed to every ticket purchaser and be available at www.habitatnorthisland.com.
The records of Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North Society shall be deemed correct if there is a discrepancy in numbers. 
If a credit card payment is charged back, you will be contacted by the Payment Processor, the Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North Society, and/or Darelle Media Inc. and given opportunity to provide replacement payment according to the terms and conditions of the Payment Processor and or Darelle Media Inc.  Any tickets issued will be considered invalid until replacement payment is received.
All sales are final once the ticket number is assigned, and all sales are subject to credit approval. The Licensee reserves discretionary right not to accept entries. 
The Purchaser is responsible for proof-of-ownership of shared tickets. 
The liability of the Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North Society is limited to the ticket price paid. 
Winners will be notified directly by email, phone and/or mail by the Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North Society as to the prize they have won and how to claim.
Winners consent to the release of their names by the Licensee. The list of winners will be published on the Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North Society located at www.habitatnorthisland.com and at www.darelle.com 
If there is a discrepancy, the list and rules located at www.darelle.com  shall be deemed correct.

9. PRIVACY:
We respect your privacy. The Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North Society protects personal information and adheres to all legislative requirements with respect to privacy. We do not rent, sell, or trade our mailing lists. Information provided through ticket purchase will be used to deliver services and keep you informed on activities of the Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North Society including programs, services, special-events, funding needs, opportunities to volunteer or give and more, through periodic contacts.
