The question we get most often at darelle is where did we come up with the name and what does it mean? So for all of you who are wondering or have asked we will endeavor to add some clarity here.
The name Darelle is pronounced as DerEHL.

Its origin is Old Persian and Old French.
From its Old Persian roots the meaning of Darelle is "maintains possessions well" and from its Old French roots means “beloved one”.
These definitions carry with them a bit of irony, as you will soon see. The origin of the name for our purposes is that it is a combination of the founder’s children’s names, Darah and Elle. They were the inspiration for the site itself and a lot of its guiding principles. Simple enough.
