The First Cause Ride 50-50 Lottery

First Responders are the Paramedics who medically save lives every day: The Police who keep us safe; The Firefighters who save our homes and loved ones. They are now the ones in need of some help.

Occupational stress injuries can lead to PTSD and other mental illnesses in all First Responders, at twice the rate of the general public. Therefore PTSD and mental health is the First Cause for First Responders that affects them all.

The First Cause Ride 2016 Fundraiser will support a tailored PTSD- Mental Illness program specifically designed for First Responders in British Columbia. Called the BC First Responder Kelty Online Therapy Service, this tailored program will be created by VGH Hospital Mental Health Professionals.

Online-yet personal, the service will be available to promote early and late diagnoses, leading to treatment of occupational stress injuries, including PTSD. With an internet connection, any BC First Responder will be able to receive help, no matter where in BC they live.

Your purchase of a 50-50 Ticket helps First Responders continue the great work they do.   Good Luck!
